Membership Covenant
A covenant is a voluntary agreement based on a meaningful relationship between two parties. The purpose of this covenant is to formally declare that you have joined with others in membership at Orrville Christian Church (OCC) in order to fulfill God’s purpose for your life and to accomplish God’s mission in the world.
In becoming a member of OCC, I affirm the following:
I have accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior through faith, repentance, confession, and baptism by immersion.
I am in agreement with the vision, mission, core values, and beliefs of OCC. Our beliefs can be found here.
I desire to take my next steps on OCC’s Discipleship Pathway as I pursue growth in my relationship with Jesus.
As a Member of OCC, I commit myself to the following:
I will protect the UNITY of my church.
…By acting in love toward other members. (1 Peter 1:22)
…By speaking words that build up the body of Christ. (Ephesians 4:29)
…By following the leaders. (Hebrews 13:17)
I will share the RESPONSIBILITY of my church.
…By praying for its growth. (1 Thessalonians 1:2)
…By inviting the unchurched to attend. (Luke 14:23)
…By warmly welcoming and accepting guests. (Romans 15:7)
I will serve the MINISTRY of my church.
…By discovering my God-given gifts and talents. (1 Peter 4:10)
…By being equipped to serve by my pastors and ministers. (Ephesians 4:11-12)
…By developing a servant’s heart. (Philippians 2:3-4)
I will support the TESTIMONY of my church.
